Technique

My unique threadpainting technique brings depth and texture to each piece, sparking curiosity and interest. This innovative approach to wildlife art and African art sets my work apart, introducing a fresh perspective within the textile art world and creating an immersive experience that resonates with viewers.

Threadpainting is an uncommon method using freehand machine embroidery, where I use threads and fabric as my brush and canvas. This technique allows me to create artworks with a tactile quality that makes each piece stand out. At first glance, my pieces may look like traditional paintings, but a closer look reveals intricate stitches and authentic African fabrics, such as Shweshwe, woven into each artwork. These elements breathe life, texture, and a distinctly African essence into my creations, making them both visually captivating and richly textured.

Driven by a passion for art for conservation, I aim to inspire a deeper connection to wildlife and foster an appreciation for Africa’s beauty. Through my art, I hope to raise awareness and support conservation efforts, bringing the natural world closer to those who view my work.
